Prayer to the Holy Family and Infant of Prague

Prayer to the Holy Family and Infant of Prague

Prayer to the Holy Family and Infant of Prague – O most loving Infant of Prague, Who by Thy sublime and beautiful virtues of humility, obedience, poverty, modesty, charity, patience and gentleness, and by the example of Thy domestic life, didst bless with peace and happiness the family Thou didst choose on earth, in Thy clemency look down upon this household, humbly prostrate before Thee and imploring Thy mercy. Remember that this family belongs to Thee; for to Thee we have in a special way dedicated and devoted ourselves. Look upon us in Thy loving kindness; preserve us from danger; give us help in time of need, and grant us the grace to persevere to the end in the imitation of Thy Holy Family; that having revered Thee and loved Thee faithfully on earth, we may bless and praise Thee eternally in heaven.

O Mary, most sweet Mother, to thy intercession we have recourse, knowing that thy Divine Son will hear thy prayers.

And do thou, O glorious Patriarch, St. Joseph, assist us by thy powerful mediation, and offer, by the hands of Mary, our prayers to the Infant of Prague.

Amen.

Infant of Prague Act of Consecration

Infant of Prague Act of Consecration

Infant of Prague Act of Consecration,
I consecrate myself today anew
and without reserve to Your Divine Heart.
I consecrate to You my body with all its senses,
my soul with all its faculties,
my entire being.
I consecrate to You all my thoughts,
words and deeds,
all my sufferings and labours,
all my hopes, consolations and joys.
In particular I consecrate to You
this poor heart of mine
so that it may love only You
and may be consumed as a victim
in the fire of your love.

I place my trust in You without reserve
and I hope for the remission of my sins
through Your infinite mercy.
I place within Your hands all my cares and anxieties.
I promise to love You and to honour You
till the last moment of my life,
and to spread, as much as I can,
devotion to Your most Sacred Heart.

Do with me what You will, my Jesus.
I deserve no other reward except
Your greater glory and Your holy love.
Take this offering of myself
and give me a place within Your Divine Heart forever.

Amen.

Infant Jesus of Prague Adoration Prayer

Infant Jesus of Prague

Infant Jesus of Prague, my God, I adore You,
here present in the Blessed Sacrament of the altar,
where You wait day and night to be our comfort
while we await Your unveiled presence in heaven.

Infant Jesus of Prague, my God,
I adore You in all places
where the Blessed Sacrament is reserved
and where sins are committed
against this Sacrament of Love.

Jesus, my God,
I adore You for all time,
past, present and future,
for every soul that ever was,
is or shall be created.

Jesus, my God,
who for us has endured hunger and cold,
labour and fatigue,
I adore You.

Jesus, my God, who for my sake
has deigned to subject Yourself
to the humiliation of temptation,
to the perfidy and defection of friends,
to the scorn of Your enemies,
I adore You.

Jesus, my God, who for us has endured
the buffeting of Your passion,
the scourging, the crowning with thorns,
the heavy weight of the cross,
I adore You.

Jesus, my God, who,
for my salvation and that of all mankind,
was cruelly nailed to the cross
and hung there for three long hours in bitter agony, I adore You.

Jesus, My God,
who for love of us
did institute this Blessed Sacrament
and offer Yourself daily for the sins of men,
I adore You.

Jesus, my God,
who in Holy Communion became the food of my soul,
I adore You.

Jesus, for You I live.
Jesus, for You I die.
Jesus, I am Yours in life and death.

Amen.

Infant of Prague Prayer in His Adult Passion and Death

Praise, honor, and glory be to Thee, O Infant of Prague,
who of Thine own accord didst embrace death,
and, recommending Thyself to Thy heavenly Father,
bowing down Thy venerable head, didst yield up Thy spirit.
Truly thus giving up Thy life for Thy sheep,
Thou hast shown Thyself to be a good shepherd.Thou didst die, O only-begotten Son of God.
Thou didst die, O my beloved Saviour, that I might live forever.
O how great hope,
how great confidence have I reposed in Thy death and Thy Blood!
I glorify and praise Thy Holy Name,
acknowledging my infinite obligations to Thee.O good Infant of Prague,
by Thy bitter death and Passion,
give me grace and pardon.
Give unto the faithful departed rest and life everlasting.Amen.

Infant of Prague – New Year’s Prayer

What shall I ask for the coming year
What shall my watchword be
What should thou do for me, dear Infant of Prague
What can I do for thee?

Lord, I would ask for a holy year
Spent in thy perfect will
Help me to walk in thy very steps
Help me to please thee still.

Lord, I would ask for a trustful year
Give me thy faith divine
Taking my full inheritance
Making thy fullness mine!

Lord, I would ask for a year of love
O let me love thee best
Give me the love that faileth not
Beneath the hardest test.

Lord, I would ask for a year of prayer
Teach me to walk with thee
Breathe in my heart the Spirit’s prayer
Pray thou thy prayer in me!

Lord, I would ask for the dying world
Stretch forth thy mighty hand
Thy truth proclaim, thy power display
This year in every land.

Lord, I would ask for a year of joy
Thy peace, thy joy divine
Springing undimmed through all the days
Be thy days of shade or shine.

Lord, I ask for a year of hope
Looking for thee to come
And hastening on that year of years
That brings us home to you.

Infant Jesus of Prague – Papal Visit in 2009

Today, the original statue resides in the church of Our Lady of Victory and its adjacent building, the monastery of the Infant Jesus of Prague belonging to the Order of the Discalced Carmelite Brothers, is located in one of the oldest parts of the historical centre of Prague. On September 26, 2009, Pope Benedict addressed the audience: “I greet all of you warmly and I want you to know what joy it gives me to visit this Church, dedicated to Our Lady of Victory, where the faithful venerate the statue of the Infant Jesus, known throughout the world as the Holy Infant of Prague. The image of the Child Jesus calls to mind the mystery of the Incarnation, of the all- powerful God who became man and who lived for thirty years in the lowly family of Nazareth, entrusted by Providence to the watchful care of Mary and Joseph. My thoughts turn to your own families and to all the families in the world, in their joys and difficulties. Our reflections should lead us to prayer, as we call upon the Child Jesus for the gift of unity and harmony for all families. The figure of the Child Jesus, the tender infant, brings home to us God’s closeness and his love. We come to understand how precious we are in his eyes, because it is through him that we in our turn have become children of God.” (http://www.thepapalvisit.org.uk/Pope-Benedict-XVI/Apostolic-Journeys/Czech-Republic/Pope-Benedict-XVI-at-the-Holy-Infant-of-Prague)
